studio

It was called Product and Still Life Studio. I'm not sure it's where my interests lie, but I learned a crazy amount. And even more stuff about studio work was solidified. And I see how it could be addictive and a really interesting way to work. It's great fun to play with all the powerful equipment and wonderful to be able to control every last element of a shoot.

So, the past three weeks have been spent in the dark of the studio. Bright strobes flashing across our field of vision. Timing shutters with splashes. After we shot the requisite apples, vases, wine glasses, we began hurling things into vases of liquid. Pouring water onto tables and plates and fruit and (in my case only) destroying a carton of eggs and covering everything in sticky, yellow yolk.

I made a conscious attempt to both shoot for myself and to shoot as if I were on an actual ad campaign. I want to hang onto both those sides of the work.
