A day at the Maine Ave fish market

A few weeks ago I spent a chilly winter day at DC's fish market. On the water in the Southwest quadrant, it's not near anything but federal offices. The regulars and the vendors were highly amused to see a girl with a camera, unconcerned with purchasing any fish. "What is the point of this?" one man asked me.

It's something different, for a girl who grew up land-locked. The colors and shapes.  The energy of the sell.

Markets like this energize me.  I will definitely be back.
